Friday Food Porn – Brought to you by the letter ‘p’

Last week’s Food Porn was something else, wasn’t it? Orange you glad you were lucky enough to catch it? That’s the thing with porn… sometimes you laugh and sometimes you can’t believe you actually went there.

So this week I thought I’d tone it down a bit, and find something for you in the small ‘p’ category.

Now, you might be thinking I’m going to surprise you with some silly photo of a garden pea, but you couldn’t be more wrong. I’ll not be revisiting the penile peppers, or even that incredible pe potato I brought you some weeks back.

I said I’d bring you a small ‘p’ this time, and you know… it did turn out to be a small ‘p’.

Small things can be quite valuable. For example, when gifting a lovely lady, one can almost guarantee she will be much more excited if you present her with a very small (oooh, maybe it’s something with a diamond) box as opposed to a large (oh, I bet this is a new mechanical device for himself and he’s trying pass it off as a gift for me) box.

Tiny vegetables tend to be tastier than big old whoops, we forgot to pick these in time vegetables. So, it gave me great happiness to find this little fella to treat you with on the Friday Food Porn day.

Given the nature of today’s item, I thought the addition of some alcohol might be a good idea. (Those of you who don’t drink… don’t fret. Alcohol burns off in the cooking and you’re just left with yummy taste. Unless you don’t like the taste of beer. In that case, tough luck.)

Carrots in Beer and Dill

1 lb. carrots, peeled and cut into small sticks
1 tablespoon butter (no substitute)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/2 bottle beer

Sauté carrots in the butter until barely brown. Add beer and dill; cook slowly for 15 minutes.

Carrots should be crisp/tender Add salt and sugar and continue to cook for another 3 minutes. Serve hot.

Shinade – Oh lol, Jackie… though I used to have a garden, I didn’t this summer. If you don’t thin them properly, carrots like that are pretty common.
