Will you ’survive’ if you don’t see Marcus Lehman’s penis?

Survivor Gabon official logo[BUZZ this story up on Yahoo BUZZ]

If you’ve read here long enough, you’ll know that from time to time, I’ve poked fun at various celebrities for the stupidity of “accidentally” allowing nude photos to be leaked online, inviting paparazzi to take photos of their panty-less crotches, and making sex tapes only to cry and whine when they get sold and end up on the internet.

Usually, the subject of such posts are female. I’ve written about Tara Conner, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Antonella Barba, Shyamali Malakar, Vannessa Hudgens, Valentina Vaughn…

Well, and then there was that Gene Simmons sex-tape thing.

Other times, I’ve been pleased to share with you the good news, when there are no such photos or tapes despite people wildly searching for them. Times like when I wrote about Elisha Cuthbert or Pink, or Miley Cyrus. No, I’m not linking to all those old posts. I’m too lazy. If you really want to see them, use the search bar in the sidebar to your left and just type in their names one by one.

So if we’re really going to have equality between the sexes, shouldn’t I be posting about the recent “wardrobe malfunction” that left poor Marcus Lehman (Survivor: Gabon) revealing his penile paraphernalia to the planet?

You’re right. I should. I’m glad we see eye to eye on that matter.

Earlier today, blogs were rushing to be the first to post about it, and share the video. Yes. A video exists, of an episode that aired on television, where in the midst of a race amongst the contestants, Lehman’s penis came out of his shorts and was caught on tape. At one site, one reader acknowledged they’d posted the video on youtube, but that youtube had already removed it. The video was there at that site though, for all to see, and other readers there remarked on how they expected someone at CBS would be getting fired over the slip up.

I disagree.

Well, I don’t disagree that someone will be fired, but I disagree it was a slip up. It’s very noticeable. I mean, how can you not  notice a penis come flying out of a man’s shorts and be flopping along side by side with the runners? I’m quite sure CBS will feign outrage and fire someone, but I’m also sure that whomever the poor sod is who is fired, that they were a designated fall guy/gal for a choice that was probably made deliberately for publicity.

One wonders if Lehman knew and agreed and was compensated in any way, or if he really is a true victim?

Of sorts.

I’m sure he will reap some kind of fame for this. After all, how many females have benefitted from some naked photos “accidentally” released, or a well-timed crotch shot, or even a sex-tape?

And just as with all the females who make that choice, I find myself a skeptic as to the “innocence” of it all. I mean, seriously now! Men out there…. would you run a race with no underwear on, wearing attire that has an open fly where your naughty bits can fly out?

Would you?

You all know that your penis is bound to come flopping out like that? I mean… you’ve had it all your life, you know how it behaves… don’t you?

You’d think he’d have known better, and if it’s ok to razz the women who make the news in this way, my sense of “what’s good for one is good for the other” tells me I should be poking fun at him today.

Pun not intended.

Watch the video here if you really want… I mean… if you think you can’t ‘survive‘ if you don’t see Marcus Lehman’s penis.

All joking aside though, what do you really think? Do you think he did it on purpose for the notoriety and ‘insurance’ that he would get if he didn’t do well in the game but ended up famous for this? Do you think he knew it would be aired and was a part of it, or do you think he was a total victim? Do you agree with me that the network probably didn’t ’slip up’ but aired it on purpose only to feign outrage later yet still reap the benefits of the situation? Do you think there’s a fall guy, or should be?  And if you think you should tell me off for writing this post… go ahead. Why not put me in my place and write your own post telling me off too?

Just make sure you link here so I know about it. That’ll teach me! Maybe I’ll stop writing about this stuff and become a good girl.

Without a doubt, this was purposeful by 1)Marcus. Those “shorts” were actually worn & faded boxer briefs. It doesn’t take the Harvard degree (he has) to know that prancing around Gabon in very revealing underwear is going to draw attention to himself. There was absolutely nothing left to the imagination before the malfunction. I thought his choice of Africawear was tacky and inappropriate. 2)CBS is paid to notice revealations, especially those that potentially ignite drama, as this had. For some reason, someone or more than one person at CBS thought to allow this cat to remain out of the bag. I can’t believe the “experts” missed the multiple penis shots. Same for the camera panning over Marcus’ crotch at least 3 times during the episode. The contestants need wardrobe approval before they prance around on TV. CBS didn’t put a gun to Marcus’ head forcing him to show his bulge just as CBS doesn’t hire the blind for tv edits.

Daddy Papersurfer – I’m terribly sorry. You sound like you have some personal experience with that? Renovation problem… or just an angry TG? *tee hee*

Jeff – Thank you, and I’m sorry. I won’t lie though, and say it didn’t give me the cause to actually LOL. Must go check you out now too. Err… I mean the blog. I do hope there’s no Lehman-type video of you there.

I found the video: Marcus Lehman’s Survivor Penis Video

[Umm, yeah. I already have a link in my post to the video somewhere else. I've been to your site and your video is the same video I've already linked to. I'm a nice person though, so I'm leaving your link here. If people would prefer to view the video at your nakedstraightguys.com site, who am I to begrudge them since it is the same one anyway. So uhhh... maybe now you kinda owe me a link too? Better be nice and link now... you just never know where I might change that link go to to if you're not. I might make your name link to like, Martha Stewart or something... LOL. - Fracas

Addendum: October 3, 2008 As promised dude, I've changed the link. You took hits from here for two days and didn't offer up a link back. That's rude. It makes you a spammer.]

I wouldn’t blame it on Marcus at all…all of the contestants in Gabon were only given one set of clothing, and it was work attire (Marcus had a casual suit) so in that challenge, he, and most of the other contestants, were wearing their underwear, because honestly, how are you supposed to run a challenge wearing a suit or dress? So given the circumstances, yeah his junk could have easily popped out of his boxers just as easily as one of the female contestants having a nipple pop out of a bra. I can’t say that some video editor at CBS won’t be getting a pink slip for it, because it’s pretty obvious, lol, but still…I doubt Marcus rigged his junk to come flying out when he’s in the middle of a rigourous challenge. I’m sure he didn’t even realize it happened until it came out into the public domain after that episode aired. It’s not a big deal though, every guy has one, even the good Dr. Marcus.

We are an organization of 200 plus and growing quickly by the day. You can find our home page at http://www.fighttheMPAA.com.

Our goal is to form a resistance to the gender biased media that has existed for the past 46 years.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, we sent the following email to Ray Faiola, CBS Audiences Services.
212-975-3166 rpfaiola@cbs.com
We also called him and he told us he never received the email, we are still waiting for a response from CBS.

* On Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, CBS aired a showing of
“Survivor: Gabon” in which a contestant known as Marcus has an alleged wardrobe malfunction which allowed his penis to become visible. The penis was in no way censored by CBS.

The uncensored penis in “Survivor: Gabon” is in no way new news as the media has done this numerous times in the past, but instead of being “supposedly unintentional”, as in “Survivor: Gabon”, it was obviously intended, as were the following examples:

* Superman (1978), aired often on public TV, showed a prepubescent boy’s full frontal nudity, no censor.

*
Never Cry Wolf (1983), also aired on public TV, showed full frontal nudity of a grown man’s genitalia, no censor.

* In the mid 80’s I can recall watching a news report on prison guards who went to work one day totally nude. The censor patch was applied poorly and at most times did absolutely no good what-so-ever.

* Not to mention the countless documentaries made about foreign cultures, in which nudity is considered acceptable for airing as it depicts the culture being studied, but it is always a penis we are being shown in these documentaries, not a vulva.

Why is it that censorship only works in regards to female nudity and not male nudity?

Why is it the media is only concerned with not offending viewers who disapprove of female nudity, but they are in no way concerned with offending viewers who disapprove of male nudity?

Please do not site the Janet Jackson Super Bowl Incident, as we see male’s nipples on television day-in and day-out. A female nipple is in no way equivalent to male genitalia.

We also sent the above email to the Chairman of the FCC, Kevin J. Martin, with these additional questions:

Will the FCC set an example by slapping CBS with a fine much greater than that of the Janet Jackson Super Bowl Incident, or will the FCC show them selves to be gender biased by making a much weaker fine for this “incident”, there by encouraging CBS to do this kind of thing again and again.

Also what are the fines for the following:

A females nipple

A males nipple

A vulva

A penis

And if the fines are held to different standards in regards to male nudity vs. female nudity could you please explain why.

Once again we are awaiting a response from the FCC.
To contact the FCC the number is,
Phone: 1-888-CALL-FCC

Respectfully,

Noel Torrey
