I’ve just learned that our very own Olga, the Traveling Bra, is sitting in third place at the Blogger’s Choice Awards for the Best Humor Blog category in the 2008 voting.

I also discovered that last year at this time (far too late to gather enough votes for the 2007 awards) an old friend had nominated fracas… and because I didn’t even know it, I’d never “claimed” the blog as mine.  I took care of that today, but have absolutely no hope of even not disgracing myself, seeing as how my entry is on the 67th page of listings with my one solitary vote!

So… I am forthwith, encouraging everyone who loves fracas, (and Olga)… to go to the Blogger’s Choice Awards Site, and vote for Olga. Yes… you will have to sign up, but don’t you think that’s a small thing to do to show support for someone who offers us all Double D laughs?

My other reason for asking you to do so, is that the blog in second place (and only a few votes ahead of her) is none other than Dooce. I’m not a Dooce fan. There. I said it. I’m sorry. I think Dooce is over-rated and I think Olga works darn hard for her traffic so deserves to at least have the satisfaction of placing higher.

Won’t you please consider giving Olga the lift she needs?

I’m reminded of a certain old-fashioned mantra that seems so fitting right now.

We must, we must, we must increase our bust.
For fear, for fear, we won’t fit our brassiere.
It’s better, it’s better, it’s better for the sweater.

I tried to find a good youtube video of that silly thing girls used to chant while doing their bust “exercises” but they were all stupid, and I didn’t find one where they were saying it as I remember it. Being me… you know I have to think I’m right and they’re wrong.

However… the point is all the same. Please help increase Olga’s standings by voting.
