Have you ever been enjoying some really great music, singing along and thinking to yourself how you’re still pretty fraccing hot stuff, and out of nowhere comes your kid (or your husband or wife) and they have this really painful look on their face. You know… that look that makes you think they’re either in need of a whole lot of bran, or there’s something really sharp embedded somewhere awfully private?
Just when you feel that rush of compassion and open your mouth to ask what could possibly be wrong, they beat you to it and you hear…
That’s not what the lyrics are you know…
Busted. You’re totally embarassed. Or, perhaps, you argue that you’re the one who’s right and everyone else is wrong for sure!
You know it’s happened to you.
It’s happened to everyone. That’s why there’s this guy who thinks we should all kiss him. And we should. He collects the funniest misheard lyric stories and offers them up to us for our entertainment pleasure.
And it was a pleasure.
There’s a certain satisfaction in finding out that someone out there thought the lyrics ”Tell me why the road turns” in the Dianna Ross song Missing You, was “Tell me why they’re all turds” and that someone else thought the lyrics “Lucky that my breasts are small and humble… So you don’t confuse them with mountains” in Shakira’s song Whenever, Wherever, were ”Look, for my breasts are small, not humble… Now you may use them as mountains.”
In the last case, the misheard lyrics might get a few more votes than the correct ones.
Visitors to the site may entertain themselves by reading the embarassing moments of others, or they may submit their own embarassing misheard lyrics moments. The main page lists Funniest of the Week, Absurd of the Week, Funniest Story and Funniest of the Year.
I enjoyed myself there and I’m betting so will you. Unless of course, you’re that asshole in the Robert Palmer song. You know…
Might as well face it, you’re a d**k with a glove.
Yeah. everyone else who isn’t a dick though, you’ll want to kissthisguy a lot… and if you want to share an embarassing “caught in the moment” story here in the comments, I won’t mind that either. I promise not to tattle if you do go over and kiss that guy. (Daddy Papersurfer might find it brings back memories of when he and that “Brother-in-law” somehow found their way to that gay bar.)
And if you remember to click here and help keep me on top of Kevin over at Humor-Blogs, I just might kiss you!

Hi,
How are you?
I readed your blog and enjoy from your weblog.
But I think it’s better that you used a Multi Blogs like as me because it gives you 10GB free space for storages your files, check me in [links removed by fracas].
I’m not sure you really have read my blog Mitra. By including two additional links in your comment (not to mention the one your name is linked to) you give the impression that you’re a spammer. WordPress is far superior to the site you linked to anyway. It’s not all about file storage, it’s about all the other things that make a blogging platform good and easy to use. The site you linked to looks much like just a social networking site and while those have their purposes, they lack the ability to create that blog look that most real bloggers require. – Fracas
Comment by Mitra May 24, 2008 @ 11:58 PMI’ve been banned from singing for a long time now. I’m not even allowed to hum …… ho hum [damn - it's a hard habit to break].
I suppose after my bad behaviour yesterday I better ‘fuel’ you up – tee hee
Comment by Daddy Papersurfer May 25, 2008 @ 12:52 AMHey Fraccy,
Another excellent work. Becoming more and more addicted to your blog.:)I am a big Floyd fan.Have a look at this – I have become Comfortably Dumb. The real Version is- I have become Comfortably Numb. Read your comment in Mitra’s post, we ourselves don’t encourage links on our website. At time it become difficult to figure out if the person is your regular visitor or a competitor or spammer. No offence meant to Mitra.

that’s pretty funny :-)
Comment by nursemyra May 25, 2008 @ 6:10 AMI think Shakira GETS her lyrics from that site to begin with. They so crazy!
Comment by JD at I Do Things May 25, 2008 @ 4:33 PMDaddy Papersurfer – Bah… it takes way more than a snuff or two to get me upset. Now, if you hid my bra or stole my favorite shoes…
Dagny – Unless it’s really obvious that the person is a spammer, I usually just take the links off (leaving the one to the name if I think it wasn’t spam) and tell them why it looked bad. Sometimes they really are someone who didn’t realize it. Askimet catches most of the actual spam so a comment or two isn’t that much trouble.
nursemyra – I thought so too. ;-) I suppose if one was addicted to “love” they’d better hope they are also a dick with a glove.
JD – Yeah. I think the idea with her is the latin beat and her dancing more than the lyrics.
Comment by fracas May 25, 2008 @ 9:58 PMThe wife has threatened me with divorce if i sing, ever. It might be because I am tone deaf or it might be because i have tourettes, either way crooning is off the menu for me!

Comment by reallifedilbert May 29, 2008 @ 11:02 AMAwww, she wouldn’t really divorce you I bet. She might burn your toast though. ;-)
Just a tip for you… if you go into your dashboard, click on users (top far right corner) and then click on your profile, you’ll be able to scroll down and find under “contact info” the line identified as “your website”. If you put your blog’s address in there and then save the changes, when you leave comments at other WordPress blogs, your name will link to your blog and you won’t have to add it as a link in the comment. If you need to ask for help in the WP forums, your name will link to your blog there too, and people will be able to see your blog and offer more help to your questions.
I just offer that tip because some people set their blogs to send any comments with links in them to the spam bin. It’s easier to have your name automatically provide the link. Less typing. ;-)
