The banner isn’t quite what I want, and there are font colors and link colors to change, but this is all you get for tonight! I wanted a change. I’m still figuring it out.
Is it me?
Here is a little bit on mumbo jumbo because I’m trying to play with the font colors and stuff and need to see what color the blockquote box or background or even links within the blockquote is/are… just ignore this little bit of nonsense I’ve added to this post because really, I’m just still messing around with the CSS and when you don’t “know” everything others know, you do it by trial and error and hope you don’t mess it up too badly in the process.
Cast your vote in the comments.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

As with the wacky happenings in here last night, please excuse the ugly header image. I’ve messed with the CSS to increase the content area and the size of the font and as a result, the banner image is, well… crap.
Unfortunately, it will be there for a wee bit. I have something pressing I must take care of. After that, I’ll be a banner-making wench and before you know it, ugly will be replaced with, well… hopefully not ugly.
Thanks once again, for your patience.
Filed under: Computers, Funny, Humor, Jokes | Tags: are computers male or female, french, language, the gender of computers
A language teacher was explaining to her class that in French, nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine.”House” in French, is feminine -”la maison,” “Pencil” in French, is masculine “le crayon.”
One puzzled student asked, “What gender is computer?” The teacher did not know, and the word was not in her French dictionary.
So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately enough, by gender and asked them to decide whether “computer” should be a masculine or a feminine noun.
Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.
The men’s group decided that computer should definitely be of the feminine gender (“la computer”), because
- No one but their creator understands their internal logic
- The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else
- Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later review
- As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheque on accessories for it.
The women’s group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine “le computer”) because:
- In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.
- They have a lot of data but still can’t think for themselves
- They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem
- As soon as you commit to one, you realise that if you had waited a little longer you could have gotten a better model.

I’m trying to find a new theme for this blog, and am having some trouble with how they’re loading. I realize some of you in other time zones might be seeing some weird things on the blog (that I haven’t actually intended for you to see) but it can’t be helped. I’m trying to do this in what is the wee hours for me, but unfortunately is the morning hours for others.
I do apologize.

The cleaning up is almost done. I felt the blog was getting cluttered and messy looking with three columns and lots of images in the sidebars. I hope this is a little cleaner looking now. The header image will be updated soon, and links to pages that were located in the tabs on the previous theme will be back as well.
