Tuesday February 19th was the first show in the new season where the audience has a say. The top 12 men guys performed (sorry, but with several of the contestants being only 17 and 18 years of age, it’s hard to call them men without a bit of a chuckle) but because tonight is the night for the gals, we won’t know until Thursday, who doesn’t make the cut.
Fracas has a sneaky feeling it will be none other than the lads pictured here, photos graciously borrowed from the American Idol site. The first photo you see is none other than Luke Menard. It’s not that he doesn’t have a nice voice, it’s that his style is reminiscent of Glen Campbell. I’d be proud of him were he someone in my personal life or family, but it’s doubtful that anyone is looking for that in a recording artist right now. Had he chosen his first song differently, it might not be his only one. I will be fraccily surprised if he remains.
The other bloke who fracas suspects will be living out Chris Daughtry’s “Going Home”, is Garrett Haley. Garrett’s performance was, as Simon likes to say… forgetable. His own interview revealed that he’s not performed much and his inexperience showed. When you’ve inexperience dogging you, you’d better be damn good, and frankly, he’s just not. His favorite quote is ”Go big or go home.” Being only 17, perhaps he’ll be one of those contestants who goes home, works on it, and returns in another year to
knock everyone’s socks off, but this year… since he didn’t “go big” he really should be going home. Prophetic words from a teen.
And that folks, is the fraccy predictions for tonight. Gypsy Fra-Kitty plans on posting her predictions too, but in Gypsy Fra-Kitty style, her predictions will come out on Thursday… following the elimination show.

I think Garrett will go home, too…. but I think the other one will be Chikeze or Colton. I think Luke will get another chance…. and I think he’ll get that chance because of the number of times they panned to his little boy. lol
Comment by Linda February 20, 2008 @ 11:59 PMor wait… was that the other crooner’s son? lol. Too early in the season to remember quite yet. Funny..
Comment by Linda February 21, 2008 @ 12:00 AMYou’re right about the guy’s son keeping him on the show, but that was the Yeager fellow who sang Moon River.
I’d be surprised if Chikeze goes. He didn’t have a great night, but his audition tapes will keep him there to see if he chooses better songs I think. With Colton, I think the young girl vote will keep him there. Luke won’t have that. Had he sang something else, he might’ve got some young attention, but his song choice stuck him in the “old guy” category I bet.
Comment by fracas February 21, 2008 @ 12:10 PMYou’re right — it was Yeager. I think Colton would have the young girl vote if David (little David) wasn’t there. I think David will steal the little girl vote from Colton.
Chikeze reminds me of Carlton… lol
Comment by Linda February 21, 2008 @ 12:38 PMI haven’t watched much of Idol this round…but my 14 yr. old daughter loves the 17 year old dood – says he has cute cheeks that she wants to pinch! I am assuming she’s talking about the ones on his FACE!
Miss you Fraccy-dear! I’m back from vacation, but now have a STINKIN flu bug that’s really left me deflated! I think I should return to Maui & lay on the beach until I feel better….
AND…I see you have removed your Golden Cock (well from the front page anyway.)….bra-wk???
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Comment by Olga, the Traveling Bra February 21, 2008 @ 1:14 PMLinda – Perhaps. I just figured if we compare Luke with Colton, Luke might lose.
Carlton. LOL, he does. Sings like Luther, but there is that Banks thing in there.
Olga – Oh.. don’t be assuming that. 14 year olds are up on the other cheeks these days too.
I moved all the awards to the hFractastic page because my main page was becoming awash in images and I feel bad when people tell me it takes too long to load. I’ve moved my blogroll to the Fraccers page and most of my blog directory widgets over to the I Frac Around page.
Lord Likely’s Golden Cock is standing tall and proud amongst the other awards.
LOL.
