You should always help your mama.

In this case, mama… is a fractastic gal who is similar in age to myself, and tirelessly fighting a battle against eating disorders. She emailed me a short time ago, and asked if I was interested in helping raise awareness once again. Having kept my Thinspiration Petition page up for a year now, there isn’t a single reason why I wouldn’t hands down, give mamaVISION and mama, my support. In her email, she explained.

“I’ve been working to put the pressure on the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA) prior to New York fashion week starting Feb 1. I figured you would get into this since I see you still have the Thinspiration petition going (awesome by the way!). The goal is to bring attention to their “health initiative” launched last year. There’s been no progress, it it not even mentioned on their web site, and the council will not return my repeated calls and emails.”

The fact that 4 models have now died from emaciation (not anorexia, emaciation which is two levels past anorexia), and the fashion industry just keeps humming along just kills me! Creating the youtube video memorial of the girls just got me choked up, it’s all so very sad, and watching the real girl impact is even worse.”

Please take time to lend mama your support. Head over to her site and see how you can be part of the solution to the horror of eating disorders. Follow the links on the petition page here at fracas, and sign the petition. If you don’t have time to do all that, leave a post here stating your intentions and I’ll add you to the petition over at the petitionsite. It’s only a minute or two.

What? Think this whole eating disorder thing is overblown? Scoffing at us making such a fuss?

Check out this video and then tell us it’s not a big deal, or that these people don’t need help and our compassion. Please be warned… this video is graphic. If you think it’s too hard to look at, imagine what it’s like living it… or being the loved one of someone who is.

This is someone’s dream come true…

I’m going to be unable to visit or comment at most of your blogs over the next two days. I know, I know… it’s like I gave you all the gift of no smart ass, but really… it’s because I’m going to be tied up again. An event I’ve been planning is coming up and it’s going to keep me from having enough time to do more than throw up a post and vote for the people on my fuelroll. I’ll be working at my kids’ school again for a few days and while I seem to have an obsession with my blog love to try keep up with everything, I can’t promise I’ll be able to comment.

Feel free to party here anyway though, because I love it when you all feel welcome enough to do that.  Just please… make sure:

  1. No one pees anywhere.
  2. All beer bottles are cleaned up before I get back.
  3. No one does anything questionable in my bed.
  4. No one wears my underwear or snoops in my drawers.
  5. No smoking in the blog. It makes me sick. I even make my own child go outside (yes, when it’s -51) to smoke.
  6. (That includes those who want to do stupid shit like Salvia or other drugs… it’s not allowed in this blog.)
  7. You bring a nice bottle of wine for me. Red. Shiraz or Merlot. Even a White Merlot is ok.
  8. Um, I can’t think of anything else and that makes me a little worried. I know some of you can come up with more than that.

I’ll still be here, just with far less time. Perhaps I’ll resort to posting real pictures of body parts?
