Fracas’ The Monday Melee for January 7, 2008
1. The Misanthtropic: Name something about humanity you absolutely hate.
Ego. It honestly feels so much better to lift someone else up that I don’t understand those who need to tear someone else down in order to feel better about themselves.
2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
I’ll just name a whole category. Sploggers/blog scrapers. If you can’t earn money with your own content, then really… you’re not meant to earn money this way. I’m sure there’s something in life you are meant to be good at so why steal from others? It’s an advertisement in how little you think of yourself.
3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
I’m unhappy that to sponsor a child in another country, one has to wade through the organizations who collect money “for the children” but then spend most of it on administration. If people could just know their money was going to the child, finding sponsors wouldn’t be so difficult.
4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
This week I’m going to give Cowgirl Betty credit for what she does for a living. For personal reasons, her chosen profession makes me consider her a hero(ine). Want to know what she does? Go read her blog.
5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it
I give good advice. I didn’t always. I used to be more quick-tempered and less likely to use reason than emotion. I think I’ve learned how to not necessarily lose the emotion in decisions or advice, but include enough reason that I do a darn fine job of making sense to those that ask. I pat myself on the back for that. It is indeed an accomplishment.
6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.
I wish I could sing. Well of course I can sing…. in the technical sense. I mean sing so that someone wants to hear me.
Now it’s your turn.

Wow yours is terrific today. And, I will definitely come back and read the link you posted. You really got my curiosity up. I will get mine up later today. It’s 2:14 and I have been working all day. But I am also here to tag you with a meme. The New year meme. It’s a really easy one to do. But I always understand if people opt out and I know you are sick right now. but here it is. http://shinade.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-years-resolutions-or-not.html

Okeedokee. I have one from Judy, girliegeek and I think even Carrie (?) that I have to do yet. I plan another “getting out of meme hell” day soon.
LOL.
Hugs to you too! CG Betty’s link is a good place. She does good work!
Comment by fracas January 7, 2008 @ 12:38 pmFracas Dahling…congrats on your Golden Award from Lord Likely! I LOVED your acceptance speech! I was lucky enough to receive the same award (well, hopefully not EXACTLY the same one) a couple of months ago…the hardest thing, I mean the most difficult thing about it is deciding where to put it! On the blog, I mean! Phew!
