Want to get lucky this Christmas?

I’m sure you’d like to get lucky this Christmas, everyone would, wouldn’ t they? If your link is below (well, your avatar with a link that is…) then I’m challenging you to enter this contest and get lucky this Christmas.

Now, you might think that I’m talking about the “getting lucky” that would make some folks snicker and turn their heads away, but for a moment, I’m going to talk about “getting lucky” as in winning a contest.

Namely the latest fuelmyblog contest over at, well… fuelmyblog of course. (I’ll talk about the other “getting lucky” a bit later in the post, so those of you searching for that just try pay attention for a bit, ok?)

I posted my Just Fraccing Around feature there, and reminded folks that time is running out to enter and win one of many great prizes. The contest is easy… really, it is. It just looks hard because the post is full of images and talk of all kinds of sites and such. That’s because the prizes are many, and great!

I made some suggestions for how others could be creative and enter. I gave examples such as these:

  • Write a poem
  • Write a story
  • Write a letter
  • Create a puzzle
  • Create a game
  • Create a phony citation
  • Create a joke

Bottom line (no pun regarding the opening image intended) is, it doesn’t matter what you write, so long as you manage to weave into your piece, the names of the prize sponsors, and include a link to their sites. When you’re done your post at your blog, go back to fuelmyblog and comment in the original prize post to say you’re in, giving the url of your entry post.

It is that simple.

And easy.

More ideas include:

  • Create an image post. Take a photo of yourself as if you’d just found out you won each prize, and then link the photos to the sites.
  • Write a “diary” entry about it.
  • Write a secret admirer letter
  • Write a recipe using the prizes as ingredients.
  • Create an ad for each sponsor
  • Create a poster, either in a graphics program, or the old fashioned way. If the old fashioned way, you’ll have to take a photo of it and include the links in your post.

Whatever you choose to do, putting your own little spark of creativity into it will make it something others will read and enjoy, and then vote for your blog. And then maybe you’ll be lucky. Leprechaun lucky. Pot-of-Gold-at-the-end-of-the-rainbow lucky.

Because if you’re a gal like me, you’d be thrilled to win a Laga Handbag, some tub truffles or some kittie mitts filled with spending loot from SEOkats. If you’re a coffee lover like me, you’d think it was great to win a subscription from The Mad Roaster Coffee Bean Company. If you’re someone like me who loves candles (and happens to look much better by candlelight) you’d feel plumb perfect if you won a beautiful centrepiece complete with a 6 lb candle from Peter G. Candles.

But what about that other kind of lucky that I promised I’d talk about?

Well… if you’re a guy who won any of those prizes and gave them to your gal… maybe she’d feel so lucky she’d help you feel lucky too? Double win for the girl, since she’ll feel leprechaun lucky and lucky lucky.

And then maybe you’d get to feel lucky again. This thing could just keep on going… like that energizer bunny.

And wouldn’t you feel lucky?

So go get lucky this Christmas and enter their contest. What could possibly be stopping you?
