Blog Action DayQuite some time ago, I signed up to participate. The plan is simple. Thousands of people blogging about the environment all on the same day.
So I said yes. After all, if I can blog about Pi Day, should I not be able to write at least one post about the environment?
The environment can be fun. Think about how the fact that we live on a planet where we can mountain climb, swim, surf, ski, hike, bike, garden, picnic, jog, skate, sled, golf, play a sport or just plain relax in a hammock on a sultry summer’s day makes us rich beyond measure.
Shouldn’t we want to protect all of that?
And yet… sometimes the environmentalists drive me batty.
How then, could this fraccy female, partake of Blog Action Day in a way befitting of the frac?
Easy.
I’m endorsing the very entertaining (just ask the fraccy children) campaign called Flick Off. It’s easy. It’s simple.
Do you need to Flick Off?
Their Who Needs To Flick Off page explains:
- “Everyone from Grandma, who leaves the bathroom light on all night, to McInsertBigCorporationHere, who keeps manufacturing without a care for the consequences their profits make on the environment. Or you, getting your take-out lunch in styrofoam containers every day of the week.”
I know some of you don’t believe in Global Warming. I’m saying it doesn’t matter if you do or if you don’t… it’s still a good idea to Flick Off.
Because mom didn’t raise me to be someone who believes waste is a good thing.
So I’ll try.

The other day I was reading the blogrollers, and learned some earth-shattering news.
It went like this:
Today, I managed to sneeze without peeing my pants
I consider this a major accomplishment.

I warned I would, err, promised I would asked for permission to post this and then, not having the patience to wait when precious congratulatory time was being wasted, decided to post it anyway.
