I don’t like to say, “I told you so.”
Well, actually, I do. So I’ll just say it up front.
I told you so.
Earlier, I’d posted several posts about Vanessa Hudgens and those nude photos of hers that have her ranking as the #2 item on the Lycos Top 50 web searches. The only term on their list more searched than her, is Poker, and that never seems to change on their list regardless of which dumbass celebrity is offering her “oops” crotch to the paparazzi that week.
There’s been a flurry of teeny-boppers rushing to defend poor Vanessa, not to mention the celebs themselves. Celebs like Vanessa Williams and others, jumping onto the poor Vanessa bandwagon that might as well, in my opinion, be as full of horse manure as sympathy.
I suggested way back when, that the photos were a ploy, and a marketing tool to create fame for herself. We’ve never found out who “leaked” the photos to the internet, just as we never heard a name or learned how Antonella Barba’s photos were “leaked” to the internet.
Imagine that.
In a time where we can track virtually anything and anybody; where what we think we do anonymously online is anything but; in a time when everything can come back to haunt us, no one seems to be able to figure out who the guilty culprit is who provided poor Antonella or poor Vanessa’s private photos to the internet.
It seems the folks over at Fox News agree with me. This is what Hollie McKay had to say on September 22, 2007.

So Vanessa will end up giving Paris a run for her money and her place on that internet bed of shame fame. While professing in a Teen Magazine interview, to be “a very private person” with “very good morals” who enjoyed serving as a role model, she’s once again, making the news with new photos of her exceptional “role model” behaviour. According to repeated reports, there are new pictures that have her bending over to show her bottom to the camera and flipping the bird to the camera.
Said Vanessa in that Teen Magazine interview, “I’ve been brought up with very good morals and I’m not going to go out and do something I don’t want other kids to do.”
It’s a good thing she clarified that for us. I’ve always wondered about whether or not a good role model for teens should be bending over to show their bottoms for the camers, and now I know. Good role models can do all that stuff for the camera, so long as it isn’t for a bad reason, but in order to turn one’s self into a marketable brand that will make oodles and oodles of dollars… just like Paris Hilton. I know I for one, will sleep better tonight knowing that since Vanessa told us she wouldn’t do anything she wouldn’t want other kids to do, all the other kids of the world should not listen to their parents when their parents tell them not to take nude photos of themselves and send them off to the internet.
Vanessa’s parents must be thrilled.
Their little girl is all growed up. She’s role modeling for all those younger girls (who will now take naked pictures of themselves too) and be able to make lots of money for themselves… and she’s going to make googles of money for herself while she’s at it.
After all, money is everything, and if you have to show a little tits and ass to get it, well, that’s just good morals marketing.

Fact is, no one really pays too much attention to female celebs unless they’re hot and naked. Welcome to the 21st century. Should be a fun ride.

I have to say that I COMPLETELY disagree with you on this subject. For one thing NOWHERE in the Fox News article that it does it suggest that Vanessa leaked the photo herself, merely that it has made her name better known, which it has. NOWHERE does it deal with the leak (and yes I beiieve someone else leaked it) at all. It is only talking about the possible aftermath.
Secondly I find the arugment posed by those who believe that Vanessa is behind the leak to be flawed and unconvincing. It always seems to start out with “I never heard of her before this.” Well so what? That’s a very weak and egocentric point to base an argument on in my opnion.
I do however appreciate that you laid out your opinion in a manner so it is clear that is YOUR opnion. And not undeniable fact. I’ve so seen too many posters on other forums state this theory (that’s all it is) as 100% undeniable fact and to go so far as to call people who disagree with them stupid for not seeing what they see. You didn’t do that. I say Thank You for that.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I assure you, I’m no virgin. LOL, I have three kids, so that means I’ve at least had sex three times in my life. Rotfl
Troy - I do try to make it clear when something is my opinion.. and since I give it often, don’t mind doing so. If I state a fact, I try have the means to back it up credibly. However… it is on the public record, that Vanessa emailed at least some of the pictures out there (when she was only 15), to a boyfriend at the time who now swears he is not the person who leaked the photos. His story has just sufficed to date the photos to her being 15.. which is why in one of my posts I told people to use that information to behave more responsibly since they are of an underage Vanessa.
I have teens. I’ve been around the block a few times. My opinion is based on being able to add 2+2 and get 4. You’re entitled to your opinion too. That’s what makes it so great to live in a free country where we can have our own opinions.
And I don’t mind people voicing them, so long as they know I’ll voice mine too.
