Support Man Boobs and Bust Stereotypes Today!

Regular fraccers know that there’s a bit of a man boob saga going on here at fracas. It all started when I noticed in my stats, that people were searching ”strong men in bras” and ending up here at fracas. Knowing me as well as some of you do, you must know that this would entertain me. 

So I, like the good entertainment and humor blogger that I am, decided to research it and really give my readers what they wanted. I wrote Men… I need your bra photos, and provided some photos of men in bras. Each day, when I see that 40 to 50 of you are viewing this post, I get all warm and fuzzy inside, knowing I’ve helped my fellow man.

So, when I came across this Show Your Support For Topless Women campaign over at The Thinking Blog, It got me thinking (wow… imagine that) about all this fuss over boobs.

To quote the campaign information,

“some states in the US allow women to be topless and feed their babies in public without getting arrested. This seems strange when men can walk around topless, legally, while certainly their breasts do not serve for breastfeeding. I think women must have equal rights as men and given the choice whether or not they want to use this right.

It is a little known fact that during the 80s, there were a series of arrests made for breastfeeding in public, so much so that there is a lawyer who has devoted her career to making sure that breastfeeding women can get justice in court. Like I said before, we can change the law, but the cultural half of the equation is much more challenging to change.

Nudity shouldn’t be outlawed, especially on a gender discriminatory basis as it is when it comes to women’s breasts. However, this idea will only be accepted when the sexual stigma can be separated from the true nature of female mammary glands.”

Supporters are then offered a series of buttons, banners and ribbons they can take to their blogs and show support for this movement.

It’s commonly thought that men do not suffer this type of discrimination regarding their boobs.

Not so.

Outrageous, isn’t it?

There is a bias out there, a bias that says people want to and should be allowed to see women’s boobs, but not men’s; a bias that says it’s ok for a man to go topless, but only if he’s got a six-pack and a tan.

You can help change stereotypes and root for men and their man boobs everywhere!
