Dear Mexico,
I know you’re a country of wonderful traditions, amazing culture and all that, and heck… people just always seem to want to go there. I think it has something to do with beaches, cheap shopping and well… maybe the beverages, but please, could I ask a favor of you on behalf of we silly folk up here in Canada who just happen to have more sensitive tummies than you do down there?
Could you please stop watering your crops with shit?
I mean, I know it seems to be a workable solution. You have sewage and you need to do something with it, and there are all these crops that you grow to export. But honestly… do ya really think it’s a good idea? I mean, I read this story at Canada.com today, and you know… when I do my shopping I already tend to look at the packages and read the labels and when I see “Product of China” I don’t buy it. I feel a need to do the same thing when it says “Product of Mexico”.
Call me crazy, but I honestly can live without the nausea, vomiting and well… you know… that word that starts with a “d” and means you’d better hope you have one toilet per person.
- “Carrots recalled after four people get sick

- Consumers should not eat one brand of baby carrots sold recently at Costco stores because of contamination by shigella, which causes fever, nausea and vomiting, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has warned.
- The carrots are labelled Los Angeles Salad Company Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots, and they come from Mexico.
- Costco has issued a voluntary recall of the carrots, which are known to have made four people sick. They were sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland.
- The carrots are sold in 672-gram bags, carrying these codes: ITM 50325, and UPC 8 31129 00137 7. The sell-by dates are up to and including Aug. 13.
- According to the inspection agency website, the symptoms of shigellosis often feel like the flu.“Symptoms can appear within 12 to 50 hours after eating contaminated food, but usually don’t appear until three to seven days later. People who have shigellosis are usually ill for three to 14 days,” the website says.
Food is usually contaminated by shigella when it comes in contact with water polluted by human sewage.

You see Mexico, a while back I recall this same thing happened with strawberries, and you know, that one really pissed me off because well… I really like strawberries. Strawberries dipped in chocolate are really great. Strawberries with chocolate sauce even, are really great.
Strawberries à la nage de Caca, not so much.
Honestly Mexico, smarten up. We’re not serious when we up here in the United States or Canada say to someone, “Eat shit.” You need to stop taking it so literally.
So, okay. Are we good now? Great. I knew it was just a misunderstanding due to some language barrier or something.
Thanks. I hope we’re still friends.
Sincerely,
Fracas
