Antonella Barba Porn Pictures are Fake and a Lesson for Teens.

Derek Hail has the facts. (Please note this site is not safe for work.)

The many other “sexy” pictures of Antonella have been explained.

“Her best friend and fellow “Idol” auditioner, Amanda Coluccio, said the tamer shots are of Barba, including a full-length shot of Barba naked, covered with rose petals, taken for a calendar she made for her boyfriend of several years.”

I see…

“They were meant to be seen by one person and one person only,” Coluccio said at her Holmdel home.”

So what I don’t understand then, is why the pictures were (at one time) catalogued at an online site for storing and sharing photos?

The Post Chronicle reports

“Most of these pictures are coming from her personal WebShots account (that has since been deleted) and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of Antonella’s friends is leaking the rest to gossip blogs.”

Excuse me, but everyone knows that once you place pictures online, anyone can right click, save them to their own hard drive and use them as they please. If I as an “old” person know that, who should really believe that any teen today doesn’t? In addition to that, any msn conversation between a teen and the teen’s friends, usually involves the passing back and forth of digital photos. Want to be a teen that’s considered “off the chain”, (one of the many current expressions meaning what we used to call “cool”) then you’d better have at least six hundred and eighty three photos of yourself in every imaginable pose, doing all kinds of imaginable things with your friends to prove that you have all these friends and that indeed, you have all that (insert descriptive here) fun.

I’ll keep stressing the point I made earlier; the point I’ve made in my own home with my own kids, for several years.

If it’s private, don’t put it online. Just don’t. That includes all those social networking sites that you think are private (between you and all 436 people on your “friends” list). That includes the accounts you all have at Flicker, Webshots, Photobucket, and a variety of other image hosting sites. It’s not private. Your friends will shit on you someday when something happens between you.

It’s the nature of being a teen and always has been.

In your parents’ day, their friends shit on them too. They didn’t have the internet though, and weren’t able to go find some quasi porn star who looks like you and make your life hell. No, they did things like write on the stalls in the bathroom at school, stuff like “Blankety blank has crabs” or “Blankety blank is a whore”.

Fortunately for your parents, those infractions were dealt with when the custodian was made aware of it and no one was the wiser save for the twenty kids who used the stall before it was found out.

In the first link abive, Rich Hanley, an assistant professor of journalism at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., who specializes in interactive communications, was quoted saying,

“Young people need to understand that anything they put on the Web is going to come back and haunt them some time in their career. Because it’s everywhere, there’s never going to be a minimal response. There’s always going to be a maximum response.” “

Definitely words to live by, for all of us, not just Antonella.

As for Antonella, one can’t surf the internet without noticing that most comments, excepting the guys who post comments (to articles about the pictures) such as “she’s f-ing hot” are very negative. I’ve seen her called a skank, a slut and a dirty whore enough times to have lost count. If the pictures were intended for her boyfriend only, this is probably the harshest lesson in being stupid, that she’ll ever learn in her life. If the pictures were actually viewed and shared with many friends (which is the more typical scenario based on everything that can be seen at MySpace, Xanga, Nexopia and the like) and removed only when she thought they might mess up her American Idol chances, then the lesson was, though a cruel and hard one, perhaps necessary.

The NinjaDude site (also not safe for work) has reported,

“Simon Cowell said yesterday at the Playboy Mansion, of all places, that the photos “[should] not affect her standing on the show, and if the public wants to keep her in, they’ll keep her in.” He added, “These people haven’t done anything illegal; that’s their private life.”

Given the fact that this may be a poor decision on their part in terms of controversy regarding the (in previous years) ousting of Frenchie Davis for similar problems, clearly the show’s producers have determined that the “Antonella is hot” factor will certainly be good for ratings, regardless of whether in the end, keeping her on will be good for Antonella.

Antonella should step down. It would be perhaps, the one thing of taste, class and composure that she could do to counteract the very negative opinion so many people have already decided is warranted. When American Idol is over, and she isn’t the winner, she is the one that has to make a life for herself after this. She should also remember that each time she sets foot on that stage, she is really only capitalizing on that same base human desire that makes people stop to watch every train wreck, car crash or other tragedy. As a mom, I imagine that would be quite painful to endure. Every mom would want to know their child is up there gaining votes for their singing ability, not because the people who liked her boobs are showing up in droves.

Lastly, she could use this experience to become somewhat of a spokesperson for teens. We all know that when we tell our teens not to do the things they do online, they don’t listen to us because we are after all, (they think) old and out of touch. Antonella could and should do what she can do to get this message out to teens.

If it’s private, don’t put it online.

Just don’t.

I agree it was extremely poor judgement on her part. The sad part is — that she can’t sing. She may have a decent voice, but she doen’t know how to perform or have any stage presence.

Comment by blessed1 March 1, 2007 @ 11:15 am

I still think that it was probably her idea

Does anyone remember Frenchie? She was kicked OFF the show for her photos (not that I ever saw them, though) of her nude. Here we have a girl who is posing nude, and performing oral sex on someone, and no one is going to kick her off? Double standard.

Comment by Claudia March 1, 2007 @ 3:24 pm

The oral sex photos are not Antonella but the others are.

I agree. I think they kept her for the ratings. I also think they know that she’ll be kept on my all the “train wreck” factor votes and thus, their ratings will benefit until she really gets the boot because she can’t sing as well as the real contenders.

You’d think someone close to her would explain that to her.

So you’re saying that we shouldn’t share photos of ourselves because our friends might shit on us one day?

Take that to it’s logical conclusion and you have the kids of today sitting inside. On the couch. Not moving. Nice and still.

Nobody’s gonna sh*t on them, boy.

Let these kids live a little. Sure it might bite them in the ass one day, but who gives a shit? If it weren’t for America’s backwards sex-obsessed-repressed morality, nobody WOULD give a shit. Excuse my french.

I was the photographer in that shoot. I think we should just publish it in a magazine!

Comment by flickrhoneys March 2, 2007 @ 12:49 am

Wow, what the heck is wrong with this country? Antonella has been called a “slut” and a “whore” so she should step down? Hide her face in shame? Rend her clothes?

This is backward and ridiculous.

We are a society that is sumultaneously obsessed with sexuality and punishment. We need to grow up.

Comment by Natalia Antonova March 2, 2007 @ 3:13 pm

Well no, actually. I wouldn’t suggest she step down because people called her names, I would suggest she step down because she:

a) showed utter disrespect for America by posing as she did at the War Memorial.
b) placed inappropriate pictures of herself online and then agreed to take part in a show that purports itself to be “family entertainment”
c) knows that other contestants have been put off the show for the same type of photos

It’s not about the names, it’s about the other stuff. This is but one of several posts here on the subject.

Stepping down would be a way to show people she isn’t someone with no respect for others or her country. She messed up, and that’s ok. People mess up. Stepping out and using this to help others not make the same mistakes would do way more for her than staying on and getting the “train wreck” vote factor until it just isn’t enough and she goes home.

It’s just about choosing which notoriety one wants… the Britney/Lindsay/Paris kind or the smart/talented/decent gal who happened to mess up and still ends up a role model kind.

I, myself as a teen, and also a male, find it disturbing that Antonella Barba is being framed (as I believe). I have seen many proofs to support that Antonella’s nude pictures are indeed fake. Such as:
(link removed)
Which was posted by AMERICAN IDOL CSS.

I agree, Antonella is not a bad looking person! But I strongly believe she is not the type to take a picture of herself, giving someone a blowjob.

I think she is innocent. Please refer to this link and you will see why I think she is innocent for the pictures:
(link removed)

Note: I have removed the two links provided, because the post you’re commenting to… is already a post confirming that the pictures you refer to are indeed fake. I suspect you didn’t read the post or you’d have known that I already provided a link to verify that the blowjob pictures are not Antonella. Your links (both exactly the same) are to someone’s photobucket site that included, first of all, an image of a sex act I don’t think needs to be linked to from this post, as well as numerous personal pictures of whomever the site belongs to including school photos and someone’s baby. I don’t know that this person wants all their photos viewed by the thousands of people who click here, and so I removed the link. -Fracas

Should we get Daniel Radcliffe fired from the last two Harry Potter productions?

He was COMPLETELY nude! On the stage!

Egad!

Comment by Natalia Antonova March 5, 2007 @ 10:22 am

Natalia, you’re so missing the point… mine anyway. I don’t speak for the others who comment and they all have their own opinions. Some are way over the edge.. like the comment your referred to in your own post at your site about the issue. I wouldn’t tell people to “shun” her as a person and the God/Jesus I know of whouldn’t shun her either. I make a different point.

She wasn’t in a play on the stage that required nudity, She planted her bare ass crack on a War Memorial and that’s just plain bad taste and offensive to families who’ve lost loved ones and whose memory is memorialized there. It’s the same as if she’d gone straddling her bare crotch on a headstone/grave marker at the cemetary and then wanted us to not think ill of her for it.

It was a bad choice, showing poor character which I think she could turn around if she wanted to by saying “I made a bad choice, it was rude and I’m sorry”.

Would you want someone to pee on your mom’s (hypothetical) grave and then tell you that you just have an obsession with bodily fluids and punishment and need to grow up? What she did was kind of like that… rude, offensive and not even in the same ballpark as being nude on a stage.

Put aside your obvious bias towards thinking everyone who criticizes something to do with an act of nudity is criticizing it because they need to “grow up” and maybe you’d see the real point (mine anyway).

We do her no favours by excusing her poor choices under the guise of “society’s obsession with sexuality and punishment”. She should be held responsible for that poor choice because it was a poor choice.

Comment by fracas March 5, 2007 @ 11:07 am

Actually, I agree with you at least halfway - nudity is used in all sorts of stupid ways. Hell, I have a partially nude (and extremely annoying) Paris Hiltron trying to sell me burgers. It’s tiring.

But in the case of someone like this teenager - I don’t see any calculated attempts to shock/sell/provoke/enrage.

I see someone who’s young and having fun - foolish fun, maybe - but certainly nothing that should MAKE her leave the show.

Comment by Natalia Antonova March 5, 2007 @ 3:43 pm

I thought she should leave the show because at this point, it’s clear that she is being kept there for the ratings and I honestly believe that if she won because of the extra attention, she’d never really ever be taken seriously anyway. I feel it would do her far better to be a stand up kind of gal, admit she was foolish, bow out and you know… she’d probably end up getting some gig anyway. People would be so impressed, she could then be a role model for other teens instead of a joke to everyone, and probably have a real future in the public eye. People are forgiving of mistakes.

It’s because it will appear that she’s cashing in on the Paris Hilton factor (no talent but look at my crotch and see my sex tapes woohoo I should be famous) that I maintain she should take the high road and it will probably get her more of a life than being another Paris.

Ick. Why would anyone with any talent want that?

Amazing how people who seem so opposed can find agreement in some things (if we try), isn’t it?

I’ll have to go read more of you!

She is still there because people are voting for her. The Frenchie thing is apples & oranges. If you could ask all the WW2 GIs if they minded Antonella on their memorial, I doubt you would get any complaints. Enough of the phony outrage. Most women are jealous because Antonella is drop dead gorgeous. None of the photos that are actually of Antonella are offensive. Nothing you can’t see at the beach or on TV. At a local tanning salon they have a full lenghth photo on their front door of a topless women partially
covering up her breast with her arm. This faces out to the general public 24/7. No one gets offened. This is what Antonella did. Big deal. Get over it.

Comment by Eric Rumsey March 7, 2007 @ 10:51 am

So a local tanning salon displaying a full length photo of a topless woman makes everything else ok. Well hell. Why didn’t I think of that?

I suppose if the local salon that caters to kids here decided to post a naked photo of a ten year old girl, well… that would make child pornography ok… so long as no one gets offended.

Oy.

The point you make about GI’s… well you aren’t exactly on the money there. I won’t make this comment into an essay though, I’ll create you a very special post just for that!

You can’t possibly actually believe that any time a woman voices her opinion about something another female does that it’s because she’s jealous, can you? So does that mean every time you voice displeasure with something another man does, that you’re doing so because you’re jealous that they might have a bigger dick than you?

ROTFL

Antonella can be beautiful, no doubt. I’ve seen her looking stunning and I’ve seen her looking average. Most women are that way, we can be stunning, we can be average and even the stunning ones can be pretty scary looking at times too.

What the hell does that have to do with disapproving of someone’s actions?

Comment by fracas March 8, 2007 @ 10:10 pm

Probably leaked by someone she thought a friend. How sad.

Comment by totaltransformation March 12, 2007 @ 9:38 am

People should mind their own business and leave the hot chick alone. We need more hot chicks with hot pics. Woohoo.

Seriously, though, the photos weren’t even the least bit offensive. At this day and age, I’m amazed anyone even got riled up about them. Baywatch showed way more skin and that was free TV and that was years ago. (sorry when I think of Idol, I kinda remember Hasselhoff lol!)

I thought Idol did the right thing. I didn’t agree with them removing Frenchie either and her pics were softcore porn like you see in xxx websites. Antonella’s was just sexy studio pics like you see in the cover of FHM or Maxim.

At the end of the day, those pictures put her on the map and will likely lead to a brief career at the least.
